The Best Things in Life Are Free!

I got a message from a special someone yesterday. It read, 'the best things in life are free!', then I just smiled. (The kind of smile you smile when you finally realize that what you've been tearing the house down, scouring for, was right in your hands!) Only, this time, I wasn't searching for anything.... It came searching for me!  Enough with the parables.  . The best things in life are what money can't buy; what money could never qualify to rent; what everyone is born with; and, what one can always have if one chooses to (positive thinking!). The best things in life are privileges. Simply put, the best things in life aren't actually things! They are traits, and resources like love, dignity, family, time, resilience and several many others!  . Money can't get you love, it can only get you what looks like it, and make you believe it's the real deal. And so, focus on the things that are greater than money in measure. The things that everyon...

6 reasons why you can't get over a breakup

I'd like to think that the three most painful things on Earth are third degree burns, childbirth, and breakups. Breakups are devastating to every sphere of our lives: the emotional, physical, social, and mental. It has a way of reducing us to our weakest, and making us relive the painful feelings of regrets over and over again. Everyday, you walk down that same street you both used to walk; you listen to sad songs and keep wondering about what was and what should have been. Still, you end up wondering why you just  can't forget who it was that broke your heart. This post would help you discover what it is that you're still doing wrong. 1. You're stalking him or her on social media: Don't worry about what he's doing, worry about why you're worrying about what he's doing.  So, maybe you unfollowed him on all the social media platforms you both shared, right after the breakup. Or maybe, you took it as far as blocking him. Still, you know deep...

Letter To My Unborn Son

My dear,                  I can only project for so long into the future's gateway, and so I'll try to make the most of this little time I have with you. Today, I'll tell you words my father never told me, and one you shouldn't tell your son if you deem it fit. Be everything you can be, son -- everything but me. Let my path only motivate you whilst you thread yours. Don't waste your time trying to start from where I left off; rather, start from the scratch and let your own experience, failures, mistakes, and successes shape you into someone not me. We are two unlike beings, no matter how much we may look alike.    You see, son, I only see when I close my eyes. For I believe that the greatest ideas are born in the most silent of nights, the darkest of times, and the moment our fears are at its zenith. And so, I've taught my eyes to grasp every treasure the dark holds. Yet again, this is only my belief. You have it in you to believ...

Sarah's Song

Sarah walked briskly, away from the coffee shop and deep into the cold; half scared of the dark and all it beholds and yet half confident that it wasn't her a gang of teenage boys were calling. She stopped at the bus stop, sticking out her right arm, and making gestures at an oncoming cab. She realized in shock that her hands trembled. She stole a glance at the sky. No, not even an inkling of a star smiled at her. Her gaze fell back to the road. Sarah gasped! There wasn't any vehicle on the road. The cab must have passed her whilst she stood admiring the sky. Now, the cab was nowhere in sight, but the boys were. Scared, for a reason she couldn't even think of, she didn't know when she began to run.  Why am I running?,  She thought... No, there would be enough time for thinking. Later She then heard heavy footsteps following hers. Or maybe it was her heartbeat. And so, she placed a palm on her chest gently. No, it wasn't from there! It was from the ones now ech...
